    29 дек 2023
    [IMG]
Help your home keep up with you—and stay connected to what's going on when you're away—with a custom home monitoring system built with a Raspberry Pi.
With some inexpensive hardware and simple web services, you can monitor your house remotely via photo or video surveillance, detect motion, turn lights on and off, and send messages to your phone when different alarms are triggered.

This DIY electronics project provides simple directions for getting your home monitoring system up and running. Author David Ross helps you select a power supply, camera, motion detector, enclosure, and other components and accessories, and make your system "smart" by connecting to web services frameworks such as Weaved and WebIOPi.
Then he helps you program the logic to make your Pi camera take pictures and stream video, connect to home peripherals, and mount your alarm system.
With this training, and a little elbow grease, you can create a fully autonomous system that helps you and your family feel more secure at home and away.

Note: These instructions work with Raspberry Pi B, Raspberry Pi B+, and Raspberry Pi 2 models.

  11. [Linkedin] React: Server-Side Rendering, 2021 (Emmanuel Henri)

    29 дек 2023
    [IMG]

Server-side rendering lets you optimize your applications to use client or server resources depending on network and device circumstances.
Old device on a slow network? Render on the server. New device, fast network? You should probably let the client do the work. Some call the resulting architecture "universal," others "isomorphic," but the results are smooth.
Learn about implementing server-side rendering, or SSR, in your React projects. Emmanuel Henri shows how to set up an SSR project with React and Next.js, add a centralized store with Redux, and configure custom routes with Express and Next.js.
He wraps up the course with a discussion of code splitting, which can improve application performance.

  14. [Linkedin] Building an Ethereum Blockchain App: 11 Integrating Non-Blockchain Apps (Michael Solomon)

    29 дек 2023
    [IMG]
Have you wondered how blockchain can help you create applications that offer greater transparency, traceability, efficiency, and resilience while lowering your costs?
This course, last in a series of eleven, shows you how to integrate apps into blockchain that weren’t originally created with blockchain.
Instructor Michael Solomon steps you through some special instructions and considerations for when you’re integrating non-blockchain apps. He explains key differences between blockchain and database storage in terms of control, data, performance, and more.
Michael covers how traditional apps and dApps differ in how they execute their code. He shows you how blockchain can improve existing designs and how to move part or all of an entity’s operations to the blockchain.
After going over important considerations that should be made before moving to the blockchain, Michael concludes with interface questions that you should ask when designing and implementing your dApp solution.

    29 дек 2023
    [IMG]
Have you wondered how blockchain can help you create applications that offer greater transparency, traceability, efficiency, and resilience while lowering your costs?
This course, tenth in a series of eleven, shows you how to use Infura and Truffle to deploy your blockchain app. Instructor Michael Solomon explains the differences between private and public test blockchains, as well as the actual live blockchain.
He warns you to work out as many bugs as possible before deploying to the live blockchain, as it costs money to deploy, and whatever you deploy to mainnet can only be updated, not changed.
Michael goes over how you can use Infura to connect multiple blockchains and how to configure Truffle to deploy to public test blockchains via your Infura account. After stepping through how to fund your account lab, he concludes with advice on deploying your app to the live blockchain.

Note: This course was created by Michael Solomon. We are pleased to host this training in our library.
